Forest & Bird have partnered with Paekākāriki conservation group Ngā Uruora to unveil a tribute to the life’s work and legacy of Forest & Bird founder, Captain Ernest “Val” Sanderson.

Part of the newly-restored Waikākāriki wetland is being named “Sanderson’s Way” and an exhibition, “Inspired by Sanderson”, will be held in his honour.

For day two of our tribute to Sanderson, join us from 10 am to view the exhibition and be among the first to walk along Sanderson’s Way.

Between 10am – 1pm, Predator Free Paekākāriki will be running a drop-in workshop for all of your at-home trapping questions.

Come along to discover more about Sanderson’s life and legacy and learn about current work being done by Forest & Bird and local conservation groups.
