Summary of Project

Compare the S-N curves under stress-controlled conditions for the different notched (and unnotched) geometries. Study the notch effect for different geometric discontinuities and loading histories (CA and/or VA). Develop a numerical elastic-plastic model to estimate the stress and strain fields at the notch region. Predict the fatigue life using fatigue parameters determined at CA from LCF strain-controlled tests. Develop a mixed numerical-experimental model to predict the fatigue life. Analysis of failure mechanisms from fracture surfaces.

Key Words
