Pro bono

We want to help create a fairer society. We use our legal expertise to support people, communities, and organisations to build this future together.

Whether it is working alongside individuals or as part of broader systemic work, our pro bono legal assistance aims to bring about positive social change. We help people overcome barriers that prevent them from enforcing their legal rights; support not-for-profit organisations whose purpose is to improve lives; and collaborate with the communities and organisations best placed to know the changes needed to make the legal system better, fairer, and more accessible for everyone.

Lander & Rogers shares this commitment as a whole firm. Everyone is involved, from partners, lawyers and legal assistants to business services teams and legal tech consultants.

Our focus

We target our pro bono work at four national focus areas:

  1. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and organisations
  2. Climate and just transitions
  3. People forcibly displaced
  4. Gender-based violence.

Each office also takes general referrals on matters in other areas within our firm's legal expertise.
