Activ staff members Marie Blackburn and Madison Heady have been very busy lately running our Inclusive Education workshops. Over the last few weeks they have completed a 'Practical Strategies to Use in the Classroom' at St Anthonys Catholic Primary School, a full-day course of 'Building Inclusive Environments' at Lumen Christi College, and 'Building Genuinely Inclusive Cultures in Schools' at EMMANUEL CATHOLIC COLLEGE. All workshops are tailored to suit each school's needs, from the length of the presentation to the content covered, helping participants get the most out of their time as possible. We are thrilled with all the positive feedback we have received so far, and can't wait to continue to share this awesome work with schools across the state. There was dirt, dust, mulch galore, plus endless smiles and laughter as Chevron Australia volunteers gave Activ’s Beaconsfield Community Hub a much-needed garden makeover. The hub is one of Activ’s busiest, with around 90 customers visiting the hub to learn new skills, hang out with friends, and find independence and confidence among others. The makeover will make a huge impact on the daily lives of those who use the hub, opening up a previously unused area as a space for recreation and respite. Here are a few highlights from the day, we can’t wait to share the full reveal with you soon. Thanks again to the team at Chevron Australia who worked closely with Activ’s Property Care Team, who proudly and expertly designed the new landscape and managed the project, and the suppliers who helped to bring the vision to life.
