Magical Mushroom Company® and ICAX Ltd have successfully collaborated on a project funded by an Innovate UK Business Connect competition to create a sustainable packaging solution for small heat pumps. Big pieces for us but small Heat Pumps for ICAX! ICAX are a leading cleantech innovation company specialising in renewable and heat pump solutions, joined forces with Magical Mushroom Company® to address the pressing need for sustainable packaging in the construction industry. ICAX has a strategy to reduce waste and promote environmental responsibility in all its operations. Our Mushroom®️Packaging solution replaces traditional materials like expanded #polystyrene with a truly home biodegradable alternative, even for heavy items like #HeatPumps on an industrial scale. This collaboration further demonstrates our progress towards "making polystyrene packaging a thing of the past". The length of the packaging is the largest we have produced to date, and thanks to the project, it is now available as part of our long term ongoing solutions. We're proud to work with ICAX on their challenge and salute their industry leadership. While they were the first Heat Pump Manufacturer to convert to our Mushroom®️ Packaging, we see no reason others should not follow. Today the Standard Bank team in partnership with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) revealed the world’s first house built from mushrooms! MycoHAB Namibia is a partnership between Standard Bank and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). MycoHAB turns the encroacher bush and the fungal material from mushrooms (mycelium) into food and building materials while storing carbon dioxide to offset global greenhouse gas emissions.
