Great to see the Opposition - Jane Hume and Aaron Violi MP - taking a clear position to back Australian startups and scaleups when it comes to possible reforms to the sophisticated investor test. Early-stage investment by sophisticated investors in Australia’s startups and venture capital funds is critical for growth and innovation in our tech sector. As the Parliament initiates an inquiry to examine this important issue, we will continue to call for alternative pathways to be introduced for investors to qualify based on education, professional training or relevant expertise. A thoughtful approach to reform can unlock crucial funding for startups to scale and drive Australia's tech advancement, while ensuring appropriate safeguards for consumers. #AusTech #StartupAus #SophisticatedInvestor #InnovationNation #TechPolicy https://lnkd.in/g2CnYeQ3
