This morning the new direct Bonza service between the Sunshine Coast and Launceston Airport took to the skies, just in time for Easter and School Holidays! This is the first commercial flight in history between the Sunshine Coast and Tasmania, creating significant opportunities for both regions. To celebrate the new connection, Kenilworth Bakery created a limited edition Bonza ‘hotXnut’ – a combination of a hot cross bun and a doughnut – showcasing just one of the incredible food and beverage offerings available across the Sunshine Coast. 🍩🎉 Launceston is now the 15th destination from Sunshine Coast Airport and the new twice-weekly service will operate Mondays and Fridays with more than 38,000 seats available annually between the tourism hotspots. Sunshine Coast Airport is delighted to announce the new Community Support Fund is now open for applications! Grants of up to $1,000 will be available to eligible community groups and organisations to pursue projects and initiatives that are important to them. Through the Community Support Fund, we can help to deliver initiatives that support local community, tourism, cultural, sporting, educational and environmental activities across the Sunshine Coast and Noosa. Sunshine Coast Airport is proud to partner with Containers for Change QLD ♻ This exciting new program will help us to convert bottles and containers collected on site, into vital funds that will benefit our local community and environment. Passengers can now dispose of bottles and containers in specially marked bins, positioned in convenient locations throughout the Airport terminal to increase recycling and reduce waste. The program will not only raise essential funds, but it will also support our environment, conservation, and sustainability goals. Sunshine Coast Airport is soaring into 2024, as we welcomed 180,600 passengers in January—our highest monthly passenger record in history! In addition to our highest monthly total, we also celebrated our busiest single day on December 28, with a remarkable 7,495 passengers. This surpasses our previous daily record set on July 7, 2023. The momentum of strong passenger numbers in December capped off an exceptional year, with a total of 1.85 million passengers passing through our terminal across 12 months. We're excited about the continued growth ahead and thank our dedicated team, airline partners and valued passengers for being part of this success. 

Our route map is growing! 🌎✈️ We’re delighted to announce our 14th domestic route will connect the Sunshine Coast to Launceston Airport, from 29 March 2024, thanks to Bonza. This is the first time the Sunshine Coast will be directly connected to Tasmania, giving both Sunny Coast and Tassie locals the opportunity to explore new places in their Aussie backyard. Operating twice weekly, this route will provide a significant boost to both regions, as we continue to look at connecting with more destinations across Australia. A soaring start to 2024! Yesterday afternoon, we welcomed the largest aircraft to ever touch down at Sunshine Coast Airport - the impressive RAAF KC-30. The aircraft made its landing as part of a training exercise, making history as the first Code E aircraft to operate at the airport. An aircraft of this size is only able to land as a result of the runway expansion project that completed in June 2020. Thanks for the visit, Royal Australian Air Force!
