Berowra Public School offers a Music Program administered on a non-profit basis by the Parents and Citizens Association Music Committee

There are many benefits for children who learn a musical instrument and play in an ensemble. Studies show that learning an instrument engages our brains in many functions including listening, counting, reading, and fine and gross motor skills, all of which fire up the myriad of neurons and systems in the brain. Through the BPS Music Program we aim to foster an interest and enjoyment of learning music. This early musical grounding provides a foundation for continued musical education through to high school and adult years.

Our objectives are to provide students with the opportunity to: 

OUR PROGRAMS

The Training Band is aimed at students in Years 3 & 4 with no musical experience and is an ideal introduction to learning a musical instrument.

Rehearsals are once a week on Wednesday mornings 8-9am in the school hall.

Once students have spent a year in the Training Band, they typically join the Performance Band which is made up of students from Years 4-6.

Our two recorder groups run for students from K-6, no experience required!
