Covid-19 Update – 8 September 2021

From 11:59pm last night, all of New Zealand excluding the greater Auckland area moved to Alert Level 2. At this time, the greater Auckland area still remains at Alert Level 4.

Auckland

This means that there is no change to existing operations from our Auckland warehouses, and we are still only able to distribute the following products:

In addition, as an Essential Freight Service, we are able to continue to receive any inbound inwards goods at our Auckland warehouses during operating hours where resource allows. We do still request that any Auckland warehousing clients continue to:

  • Reach out to your customers to ensure that they can safely receive contactless deliveries, they are aware that Customer Collections are unavailable, and there may be delays receiving some orders
  • Keep in contact with your warehouse Site Manager, providing updates of your forecast order volumes, including any pending back orders
  • Refrain from any Peak Sales campaigns during Alert Levels 4 & 3
  • Reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns

An update on the greater Auckland area alert levels is expected from the New Zealand Government on Monday, 13 September.

Christchurch

For Christchurch, from today we can now accept customer collections and site visits/meetings, however with additional health and safety protocols in place. These include:

  • Requirement for face coverings to be worn at all times when at Online Distribution facilities
  • Mandatory QR Code scan in at each site visited
  • Site visits/meetings only by prior arrangement with the Site Manager
  • Maintaining contactless collections and/or maintaining 2 metre distancing when meeting with Online Distribution staff or contractors

We would also request that both customer collections and site visits/meetings be only used where other means are not achievable. Over the next few weeks, we would also appreciate if non-essential tasks including stocktakes and rework projects be deferred until any backlogs can be worked through.

Our Courier and Freight Carriers

While our Courier and Freight Carriers still remain under pressure with increased volumes in their networks and additional constraints on delivery, they are managing this difficult time very well. We expect that there will still be some strains on usual delivery timeframes, particularly freight transiting into or through Auckland, and ask for patience and understanding throughout this next phase.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
