Padbury Catholic Primary School racks up fifth cross country win

PADBURY Catholic Primary School has continued its dominance in cross country running, winning the School Sport WA championship for the fifth consecutive year.

Competing against more than 2000 students from more than 80 schools, the Padbury Catholic team won the overall championship trophy, as well as the overall boys’ and girls’ competitions and both Year 4 events.

While the school’s physical education program focuses on cross country running during weekly sport lessons in the lead up to its carnival, staff also lead voluntary training sessions before and after school in Term 2 to prepare for the regional and state championships.

“As a school, we train incredibly hard and the results are well deserved for the effort put in prior to the event,” physical education teacher John Hignett said.
