Animal Shelter

Our animal shelter keeps lost, stray and abandoned animals safe until their owners are found or they can be re-homed. We also find homes for abandoned animals through adoption.

If you’ve lost a pet

  1. Report your pet as lost on the NSW Pet Registry.
  2. Contact our animal shelter on 6583 3488 to see if your pet has been picked up by one of our rangers.
  3. Call local vets in the area, as lost animals are often handed in to vets.

If we find your pet

When a ranger finds an animal in a public place without an owner, they will scan the animal for a microchip and attempt to contact the owner if microchip details are found.

  • We will return the animal back home after making contact with the owner.
  • If the owner can't be contacted or no microchip details are found, we'll bring the animal to our animal shelter.

To pick up your pet, you will need to sign a release form and pay a fee before your pet is released. Un-microchipped and unregistered pets will also need to be registered and microchipped before the animal is returned to you.

Pet Adoption

If you’re interested in adopting a pet contact us on 6583 3488 or visit the shelter’s website for available adoptions. We also work alongside other rescue organisations in an effort to give every animal an opportunity to be rehomed.
