Narre Warren and Pakenham Station closures

Pakenham Station will close while buses replace trains on the Pakenham Line from 9.30pm Friday 17 May to early June.

Narre Warren Station will close while buses replace trains on the Pakenham Line. The station will close at the following times:

  • 8:20pm to 4am each night, Tuesday 7 May and Wednesday 8 May
  • 10pm Friday 17 May to 7pm Sunday 19 May
  • 7am Tuesday 21 May to 4am Wednesday 22 May

The ticket office, myki readers and platforms will not be available during this time.

myki top ups can be made at all stations that are open and new myki purchases can be made at select stations, or at your nearest myki retail outlet.

Gippsland Line disruptions

Victoria's Big Build

Victoria's Big Build is making the Cranbourne and Pakenham lines level crossing-free by 2025.

Victoria's Big Build has removed 17 dangerous and congested level crossings from the Cranbourne and Pakenham lines, with another ten to go by 2025. Victoria's Big Build has built seven new stations on the Cranbourne and Pakenham lines, and will deliver another three stations on the Pakenham line by 2025.

Along with the Metro Tunnel, the upgrades to the Cranbourne and Pakenham lines will make rail and road travel easier, faster and more reliable for Melbourne’s southeast, providing better access to jobs, health and education for people in this growth area of Melbourne.

Regular maintenance and critical safety works undertaken by Metro Trains Melbourne will also continue to ensure the safety and efficiency of Melbourne's metropolitan rail network.

Additional travel support and information

Car park and pedestrian access changes: Temporary car park closures and changes to pedestrian access will affect stations along the line during the works.

For the safety and comfort of all passengers, there are restrictions on what you may take with you on buses.

You cannot:

  • Take a conventional bike on a bus or tram (only folding bikes that meet the size criteria).
  • Take an animal on a bus or tram unless it is in a suitable container. Exceptions apply for assistance dogs.
  • Take a surfboard on a tram or a bus.

Wheelchair Accessible Taxis are available and most train replacement buses will be low-floor models to assist passengers. Please speak to the customer service staff at your replacement bus stop, station staff or contacting PTV prior to your travel on 1800 800 007.
