Circular 34/22 Registration for RSL NSW Annual State Congress and AGM 2022

Further to Circular 26/22, registration for the Annual State Congress and AGM 2022 is now open. The deadline to register is Friday, 7 October 2022. Congress and the AGM will take place at NEX, Newcastle Exhibition and Convention Centre (309 King Street Newcastle West) on Monday 31 October and Tuesday 1 November 2022.

There are three types of registration this year:

  1. sub-Branch or District Council delegate and alternate delegate in-person attendance
  2. sub-Branch or District Council delegate and alternate delegate virtual (online) attendance
  3. Nominate a proxy to attend in person or virtually (online)

Register to attend in person

All Honorary Secretaries are required to complete an online registration form for their Delegate and Alternate Delegate attending in person.

Register to attend virtually

All Honorary Secretaries are required to complete an online registration form for their Delegate and Alternate Delegate attending virtually.

Details for how to attend the events in a virtual capacity will be sent directly to the Delegate or Alternate Delegate’s personal email address.

Proxy Voting

Nominated sub-Branch Delegates who cannot attend Congress and the AGM may appoint the Chair or a Director of the RSL NSW Board, or their sub-Branch District Council Delegate as a proxy to vote on their behalf in accordance with clause 15.52 and Appendix C of the RSL NSW Constitution.

Attendance Requirements

All sub-Branches must comply with Clause 15.39 of the Constitution in order for a Delegate and Alternate Delegate attend Congress and vote at the AGM. This means all sub-Branches must have submitted its SBA and paid any outstanding invoices to RSL NSW, noting outstanding fees include capitation fees from 2021 and diary orders. Any sub-Branch that is not compliant and registers a Delegate or Alternate Delegate will be contacted by ANZAC House and will have until 7 October to fulfill its obligations.

Ask ANZAC House

This year, sub-Branches can submit a question for the ANZAC House Leadership Team that will be answered during the ANZAC House session at Congress. Please submit any questions when completing the registration form.

Social and Recreation Activities

Please note that no registration or social function will take place on the Sunday afternoon/evening, as has occurred in the past. Delegate and Alternate Delegate packs can be collected on Monday 31 October from 0800.

The City of Newcastle RSL sub-Branch invites all delegates and alternate delegates to join them at the Beat the Retreat on Sunday 30 October, from 1815hrs at Fort Scratchley. You can read more information on this event here. Please indicate your Delegate and Alternate Delegate attendance and if they will require transport to and from the event when registering.

All Delegates and Alternate Delegates are invited to join their fellow members from across the State on Monday afternoon for lawn bowls, trivia, or walking football and camaraderie at Bar Beach Bowling Club. This showcase of the RSL NSW Sport and Recreation Program Pilot will take place from 1630, a shuttle bus and refreshments will be provided. More information about this activity can be found here.

Travel Cost Assistance

If any sub-Branch requires financial assistance for the Delegate and Alternate Delegate to attend, please submit your application to the sub-Branch Support and Assistance Fund by completing this form.

  • Refreshments (including at Bar Beach Bowling Club) and light lunch will be served

Tuesday, 1 November 2022

  • 0900 to lunch
  • Annual State Congress
  • Refreshments and light lunch will be served

Notice of Meeting

The Notice of Meeting will be issued to sub-Branches on 3 October 2022 (four weeks prior to the AGM).

Submit your Motions

In accordance with the RSL NSW Constitution Appendix C Clause 2, sub-Branches are required to propose motions for the AGM by 22 August, 10 weeks prior to the AGM. Please see Circular 26/22.

Please submit all motions for consideration by the Agenda Committee and Board by email to support@rslnsw.org.au.  If you prefer to submit motions by mail, please allow sufficient time for the mail to reach ANZAC House.
