Youth Focus is a for-purpose organisation that creates brighter futures for young people in Western Australia by offering a range of no-cost mental health services. Established in 1994, Youth Focus delivers innovative and accessible mental health services and programs across Western Australia to help at-risk young people aged 12 to 25. A key component of this is our role as the lead agency for a number of headspace centres.


We are looking for an experienced Mental Health Clinician to join our Meekatharra Team.

  • FIFO position | 1 week on/off (0.5FTE)
  • Fixed-term contract until June 2025, with extension in line with funding
  • Salary up to $52 p/hr + $80 LAFH + super + salary packaging


About the Role 

In this position you will:

  • Contribute to the development and delivery of a high-quality intake and mental health response to young people local to the Meekatharra area.
  • Work closely with young people, their families, and community services to ensure safe and high-quality care practices during the engagement, assessment, and service delivery phase.
  • Increase client access to services by providing care through a flexible model of service, conducting sessions as and where appropriate and safe for both client and practitioner.
  • Conduct initial screening assessments and deliver effective and culturally appropriate therapeutic intervention and care coordination including assistance in the referral of young people to other service providers.
  • Participate in regular clinical case review meetings and multi-disciplinary team meetings to ensure appropriate clinical service pathways and service delivery.
  • Represent Youth Focus at external community events to strengthen relationships with local stakeholders and young people.

  

About You

To be considered for this position, applicants will have:

  • A passion for working with young people.
  • Extensive experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and awareness of cultural protocols when consulting with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
  • Bachelor's degree qualification (minimum) and current registration/membership with a professional body (e.g., AHPRA, AASW, ACA, PACFA).
  • Experience in providing clinical and early intervention services to young people, families, and community organisations.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to undertake screening and assessment to determine a young person's needs and level of risk, and to refer to other services as appropriate.
  • Confidence and experience in using systems and technology.
  • Team player and have the confidence to communicate effectively with a range of diverse individuals and enjoy working to achieve the desired outcomes of the organisation.
  • Drivers Licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
