Fisher survey

TARFish members were recently given exclusive access to complete a non-government independent survey on their fishing behaviours and interests. This survey was a pilot to help us fine-tune a questionnaire that could be distributed to recreational fishers around Tasmania, which we are now in a position to do.

We’d like to re-invite anyone who has not yet participated in the survey to complete the questionnaire, which is now live and can be accessed here:

This time we are offering a prize draw to complete the survey:

The prize draw includes three prizes that are up for grabs:

  • Prize 1 (valued at approx. $550) includes a fishing prize pack from Fisherman’s Shed, including 1 x Spotters sunglasses, 1 x Voyager tuna skirt, 4 x Liquid Gold lures and 1 x $100 gift voucher to Fisherman’s shed

  • Prize 2 (valued at $500) is a gift voucher to be used at BCF.

  • Prize 3 (valued at approx. $400) is a Penn Slammer IV Reel.

Upon completion of the survey, you will be given a chance to enter your details for the prize draw at the end of the survey.

NOTE: If you have already participated in the survey you do not need to complete the survey again as your responses are still counted as valid and will be included in the main findings. Please contact Action Market Research 1800 077 789 to provide your details so that you can be included in the prize draw competition.

More about the survey

There are around 100,000 fishers in Tasmania and this survey will help us better understand Tasmanian fishers, what they think and how they live their daily lives. So we really need your help.

Results are gathered by the independent research company and no individual results will be provided to TARFish.

When finished, the research findings will be publicly available – it’s all about you so we want to make sure you have easy access to it.

The findings of the research project will be used to guide how we, as your peak body, can best represent your rights and interests for better decisions and better outcomes for recreational fishers. You can use it however you like!

If you want your voice heard, be quick! You have until 11.49pm Wednesday 31 May, 2023. Click here to read more and complete the survey!
