Smart Technology Programs
Project overview
These programs will trial and deploy a range of innovative technology solutions which aim to:
- reduce congestion
- simplify information for road users
- configure traffic lights to balance the needs of all road users
- enhance incident management and emergency response
- improve road safety.
Smart Signage Program
The Smart Signage Program is trialling a modern solution to complex clearway and parking signage by replacing existing signs with one, easy to understand digital sign.
The new signs will display current and upcoming parking restrictions, providing customers with simple, accurate, real-time information at busy kerbside locations.
Benefits include:
- simpler and easier to understand signs
- a potential reduction in accidental non-compliance and fines
- a potential reduction in towing incidents
- potential improvements in traffic flow in key locations due to better road network performance and efficiency.
