Benefits of doing a traineeship with us

We are a small organisation, so you’ll get the opportunity to rotate to a variety of different work areas to gain a good breadth of experience during your traineeship. These areas include Human Resources (including Work, Health and Safety), Finance, Records, Client Services and the Executive team.

Working with us, you will also:

  • gain an insight into the important community service we provide people who are experiencing the loss of a loved one
  • be supported by staff who are experienced and enjoy helping you reach your potential
  • following completion of your school based traineeship, you may be invited to continue with us as a youth trainee and complete a Certificate III in Government.

This is what some of our current and previous trainees have said about their time with us:

  • “Staff are friendly and welcoming.”
  • “Lots to learn in every area, it is challenging.”
  • “Lots to learn about how a cemetery is run in a non-confrontational way.”
  • “A good experience for future jobs and stable income.”
  • “Easy to travel by transport.”
  • “There’s a wide range of things to learn and so many different departments to suit what you are interested in.”
  • “It’s such a welcoming environment, there’s no judgement and they’re very understanding and inviting."
  • “Hours can be flexible.”

We’re looking for young people who:

  • have the ability to work well in a team
  • have good communication skills
  • have some experience using computer packages (e.g. Word, Excel, email)
