Group Training Organisation

RAW GTO was specifically designed to provide host employers and Aboriginal job seekers culturally safe employment opportunities across corporate Australia.

JOB SEEKERS

FOR EMPLOYERS

Why RAW?

It’s not our objective to just facilitate an employment and training arrangement between the Host and a candidate. This is the systematic approach to Aboriginal affairs that has failed Aboriginal people for such a long time.

The secret to ensuring sustained outcomes is a cross culture approach delivered through our dedicated 24/7 mentors and selection of likeminded Host partners. 75% of the challenges we face in the workforce have been, or are directly contributed by impacts in our home environment.

RAW GTO recognises this and places a large emphasis on ensuring our candidates are supported at work and in their greater home environments.

RAW ABORIGINAL KINSHIP OUTREACH

Aboriginal kinship is a diverse and complex system which refers to the biological bloodlines that have been passed on from generation to generation amongst Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in Australia. Aboriginal kinship is managed by Aboriginal peoples for Aboriginal families and communities. Kinship is at the heart of Indigenous society. A person’s position in the kinship system establishes their relationship to others and to their universe, prescribing their responsibilities towards other people, the land, and natural resources.

In our experience, one of the biggest reasons Aboriginal employees resign from their jobs in the civil and construction industry is due to a lack of kinship in their lives – both at home and work. Kinship and social and emotional services are vital to ensure Aboriginal employees are supported to do their job in a safe and culturally inclusive workplace.

RAW’s Aboriginal kinship outreach program is a culturally appropriate service that addresses Aboriginal wellbeing and improves the safety of Aboriginal men and women employed in the building and construction industry. Where our structured mentoring support program seeks to address the industry and professional needs and aspirations, the kinship program addresses the broader family and community elements. RAW personnel walk alongside each employee and their family to support their individual and collective needs.
